BARRACKVILLE, WEST VIRGINIA, December 8th, 2025
A series of public records issued by THE MARION COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE and the STATE OF WEST VIRGINIA REGIONAL JAIL AUTHORITY confirm the arrest and booking of an 82 year old Barrackville woman after deputies reported locating methamphetamine and fentanyl inside a residence on Saxman Street while 5 juveniles were present inside the home.

According to the public statement released by THE MARION COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, deputies accompanied child welfare personnel to the residence during a truancy related visit. While inside the home the deputies reported finding methamphetamine and fentanyl beneath a bed. The sheriff’s office further stated that 2 of the juveniles were under the woman’s custody while 3 others were present as visitors, creating conditions in which the controlled substances and the minors occupied the same environment.

The sheriff’s office reported that the woman was charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver fentanyl, and 5 counts of child neglect. These charges were described publicly by the sheriff’s office as the result of the substances being found inside the home while the juveniles were present.

Public booking information from THE STATE OF WEST VIRGINIA REGIONAL JAIL AUTHORITY confirms that an individual identified as Mary Ann Kennedy, born March 16th of 1943, was admitted into the regional jail system on the same date referenced by the sheriff’s office. The admission record identifies her as a female inmate booked from Marion County, which matches the details provided in the sheriff’s public account.

A public property record shows that an individual with the same name is associated with a residence on Saxman Street in Barrackville, which corresponds with the location described in the sheriff’s statement.

At this time no first hand judicial filings such as criminal complaints or affidavits have appeared in accessible public dockets, and no further primary evidence has been released through official channels. The available first hand information consists of the sheriff’s public statement, the state admission confirmation, and the public property listing. The case remains in its earliest stage and will proceed through the local court process in Marion County.
