  Transliteration

Kai to Pneuma kai hē nymphē legousin· Erchou. kai ho akouōn eipatō· Erchou. kai ho dipsōn erchesthō, ho thelōn labe tō hydōr zōēs dōrean.

“And the Spirit and the Bride are saying, ‘Come.’ And the one hearing must say, ‘Come.’
And the one who is thirsting must be in the process of coming; the one who is willing must take the water of life as a gift.”

Today, as it’s important to remember, as we go through life now and throughout the week, that Jesus has offered and given us the greatest gift of all: salvation and right standing with God.

But that gift’s not just for us to keep or try to shut up in our bodies: we’re meant to use what God has invested in us to invest into others.

Just like the men who were given talents: two sowed and were rewarded, but the one who was only given one talent took what was invested in him and buried it- his master returned and punished him.

Why would Jesus tell that story? Why would it be relevant? Because when Jesus invests in us, when we accept that free gift of Salvation, he asks us to then go into the world and spread the good news and invest in others, but the only way to do that is through a change of heart.

The servant that wouldn’t invest had a wicked heart, he hoarded his gift, he buried it in the ground, he hid it away: that’s selfishness and shows a sever lack of stewardship.

So, today, and throughout the week: keep looking to the cross, keep trying to reach people with the gospel, keep asking Jesus ‘what can I do for you today and who will you give me to reach out to,’ and be good stewards of the gift that was given to you: let salvation free you today and let the love of Jesus fill you to overflow that you may pour out to others in this lost and dying world.
