New York, New York; December 24th, 2025

Federal prosecutors have charged two alleged members of a violent gang alliance in connection with the murder of a sixteen-year-old boy in the Bronx, according to an official announcement issued by the United States Department of Justice.

The charges were filed in the Southern District of New York, where prosecutors stated that the defendants are accused of participating in a fatal shooting tied to ongoing gang-related violence in New York City. According to the Department of Justice, the victim was a minor at the time of his death.

The DOJ release stated that the defendants are alleged members of a violent gang alliance operating in the Bronx and surrounding areas. Prosecutors allege that the murder was carried out in furtherance of the gang’s criminal activities, which include acts of violence intended to maintain control, retaliate against rivals, and enforce internal discipline.

Federal authorities outlined that the charges include murder and related offenses under federal law. The defendants were taken into custody and are expected to face prosecution in federal court. At this stage of the proceedings, the charges represent allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Department of Justice emphasized that gang-related violence involving juveniles remains a serious enforcement priority, particularly when it results in the loss of young lives. Federal prosecutors stated that the case reflects continued efforts to dismantle violent gang structures through coordinated investigations and federal prosecutions.

The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies working in cooperation under federal authority. The DOJ did not release additional details regarding the identity of the victim or specific circumstances of the alleged crime, citing the ongoing nature of the case.

The charges mark the beginning of federal criminal proceedings, with further court appearances expected as the case moves forward.
